10-6-08 | HALO AMBASSADOR WINS EMMY FOR VIDEO
Josh Fry traveled to Kenya with HALO last spring in hopes of spreading the word about our needs. Months later he produced a video about his trip and HALO's work in Africa. 4-24-08 | HALO on the News!
ClubHALO member Spencer Castle, age 8, is doing amazing things. He recently entered the KC's Kindest Citizen essay contest where kids around KC elect someone they know as the kindest citizen. His essay was selected to be in the top 3 among 6,000 essays submitted by children around Kansas City! In his writing, he elected HALO founder Rebecca Neuenswander as KC's Kindest Citizen. 2-15-08 | CAMPAIGN FOR KENYA!
There is a great need in Kenya right now to cover our increased food costs for the 52 children for whom we are currently caring, due to the recent violence in the Rift Valley, where our orphanages are located. Read more about HALO's Campaign for Kenya and how you can help.

1-29-08 | BOARDBREAKATHON is a Success!
The 2007 Boardbreakathon took place all over Kansas City throughout December and January. Kansas City karate kids were so excited to make a difference in the lives of the children of HALO. Read about it in Taekwondo Times!

Former KC Chiefs Quarterback Bill Kenney is excited to give back to HALO. He is building a home in Lee's Summit, MO with profits from the sale of the home going toward funding an orphanage in Uganda. Read it about in this KC Star article.

7-22-07 | BOARDBREAKATHON Oklahoma 2007
Martial Arts Instructors Mr. & Mrs. Pepper hosted their very own fundraiser for HALO at ATA Life Skills Training Center in Edmond, OK. Their students raised over $4,000 for HALO by breaking boards all afternoon. Mr. Tassee was the top Champion FOR the World, raising $1,300 and breaking 700 boards on his own! August 18th: Seattle, Washington. The First Annual SCS Golf Tourney will be held at Carnation Golf Course with additional proceeds going to HALO. Click here to read about it.

7-15-07 | 2nd Annual Artreach Auction a Huge Success!
The Evening was absolutely incredible as people gathered to bid on artwork from around the world. The top selling orphan piece was from Uganda and sold for $1400. Thanks to our generous supporters, we raised $33,000 and counting to support orphanages worldwide. Thank you to everyone who was involved. Check back soon for pictures from the event.

6-26-07 | Team HALO to Climb Mount Aconcagua
Ryan Maybee, Dewayne Bridges, Dana Davenport, and Ken Downing are preparing to climb Mount Aconcagua in Argentina in January 2008. The team's goal is to raise $80,000 through a series of events. Proceeds from the Wild West Film Fest will benefit Ashirvad Orphanage in India! Funds were raised to provide school uniforms, backpacks, and other school fees for 45 children in need. See the poster here.

6-11-07 | HALO Benefit Dinner Hosted by Feature Film "R I G G E D"
Much anticipated R I G G E D movie premiere was a great success. This formal even hosted at Cassis Restaurant raised over $8,500 for HALO. 6-06-07 | Kristen Vogel begins fundraising for 2-year trip to Africa!
Kristen has committed 2 years to serving as an International HALO Ambassador, and is moving to Uganda in September 2007. She will direct HALO programs in three orphanages in Kenya, three programs in Uganda, and one orphanage in India. Click here for more information.

HALO in Mexico! Six HALO Ambassadors have recently returned from a 5-day trip to Mexico, visiting Lilly of the Valley orphanage. Click here see images from the trip.

HALO Art Show at Thomas Kinkade Gallery was held September 5th and through a two-night event on October 13th and 14th. Throughout the show, a portion of the Thomas Kincaid gallery sales will be donated to HALO, as well as the entire proceeds from an auctioned piece. Thomas Kinkade gallery is loccated at 112 W. 47th St (across from the Cheesecake Factory on the Country Club Plaza, in KC, MO).

The HALO Foundation HEART Auction was held June 15th, 2006. For two years, orphans from around the world have been submitting selections of art work to HALO for auction in the HEART Auction. Orphans' artwork, along with professional work from KC and Chicago artists, were auctioned at the event, raising $40,000! Click here to see images from the HEART Auction.
